Unconfirmed identifications are included. These were identified by iNaturalist's computer vision and never confirmed by anyone. Their dates and coordinates are as sound as any other record — better, if anything, since they are overwhelmingly phone captures — but the species names have not been checked, and photo-based identification is weakest exactly where these are most numerous: plants and fungi.

They are also not spread evenly across the years. Community review lags behind new records, so recent years hold far more of them — roughly seven unconfirmed for every confirmed record in 2026, against one for every five in 2017. Comparing one year against another on this setting will mislead you, whatever the colour scale suggests.
